Differences from Colombia and America (And a revisit to Salento) - By Maria

There are some fun differences about Colombia from America. Two of my favorites are animal crossing signs on roads and the different types of locks on doors and windows in houses.

Here are some pictures to show you.

Human crossing (this was not where people were normally walking)

Fox crossing

Spectacled Bear crossing

Not sure what this one is but I think it's some nocturnal rodent.

I think this is another rodent

Deer crossing

Cow Crossing

There were also signs for iguanas, pumas, anteaters, armadillos, lizzards, monkeys, parrots, and dog crossings. It was hard to get pictures when we were driving though.

Here are some pictures of locks that I thought were fun.

This is a window lock

This is a modern door lock on most front doors.

This whole window opens but there are also smaller windows inside that open.

A basic hook lock.

A bar that goes through both doors from the inside.

This lock you pull the chain down and the lock hooks to the wall.

These locks go into a hole in the ground.

This lock was on almost every door and window everywhere.

This was a revisit to a town we went to two years ago and a hike we did in the town two years ago.

Me in front of a huge tree

This is a game like bean bag toss, but you throw metal pucks at a target and there are little packets filled with gunpowder, and when the puck hits them, they explode.

Reunited with our favorite driver from a couple years ago

A cool waterfall.

This is called a Willy. We ride in these to get to places where the roads aren't very good.
